The worst number in business

Nearly every small business makes this mistake…

This mistake leaves them incredibly vulnerable when it comes to getting more clients or sales.

In any area of any business, it must be your goal to change this number…

…and that number is the number one.

In this article, I will show you why this number must be avoided at all costs.

Never do this

At least 90% of the small businesses I’ve worked with have this problem.

They all had only one solid method of getting new clients

Whether that is by referral, direct mail, or SEO, it doesn't matter what it is.

What really matters is that there is only one thing in place when getting clients.

The risk

When you only have one system in place, you’re putting your business at a risk like no other.

Because if something goes wrong…

Or that method becomes no longer viable…

You’re done.

Clients will stop coming in, and your business will be at a standstill.

Many many businesses have shut down because of this.

Think of all the small businesses that shut down during the pandemic.

Here’s why

If these businesses had multiple systems in place for selling to their customers, they could have avoided shutting down.

Got a bakery, but only sell at a physical location?

Lockdown would have killed you.

But if you also sold online as well as in person?

You would have been just fine.

The same goes for something like selling via direct mail.

What if the post office shuts down or goes on strike?

The number of clients coming in will dwindle due to something like this.

This is why you need multiple things in place that get you clients.

Apply this

If you don’t have more than one way of collecting clients, make sure you change that.

This principle goes for much more than just getting more clients in,

Ideally, every part of your business should have more than one thing in place.

And if it doesn’t, you should be moving in a direction where there is more than one.

Tommy
