One of the most important parts of any ad is the offer.

The offer makes the difference between someone just seeing your ad and someone who sees it and then does what you want them to.

Not only can it do that, but if you’re really smart, your offer can tell you everything you need to know about the ad's performance.

In this article, I will show you truly how crucial it is to use an offer in any business message you put out there.

Most ads don’t have one

Whenever I come across an ad being run by a business, the first thing I always look for is the offer.

By the offer, I mean that at the end of an ad, there should be something that points the audience in the right direction.

“Buy now, get one free” “Click the link below to watch our video” “Tag 3 friends below to enter our giveaway”

You may think this is crazy, but most ads out there don’t have an offer.

And they especially don’t have an offer that makes sense and is measurable.

Your ads should have a goal.

And the offer is there to achieve that goal.

The reason many businesses fail

Without an offer, the ad fails.

Why?

Because the audience does the worst thing imaginable…

Which is nothing.

Due to this lack of an offer, I have witnessed many businesses collapse or not even get off the ground to begin with.

Many businesses are somewhat familiar with using offers but don’t fully understand them.

You see this often with small businesses that are desperate to grow their social media pages.

They will advertise often by creating posts but only look for shares and followers.

Once the pages are grown to an adequate size, nothing happens.

Because these owners believe having followers alone is enough for people to buy.

Yes, having an audience is important. But without an offer to present, they will not do a thing.

What you must do

From here on, any ad you run must have an offer.

And that offer must be measurable.

This will put your audience in the right direction, and you will get all of the data on how your ad is performing.

Without these, your audience will do nothing and you will not know about it.

This can be fatal to any business.

Try it out

Next time you create anything for your business, take some time to think about these two things:

  1. What is the goal of this ad? What do I want the audience to do after seeing it?

2. How do I ensure that the most people possible do this? What do I tell them?

The result will shock you when this is applied.

If you want to take your offer an extra step futher, you need to measure it.

Read our article "Every ad needs this" where I show you how to start measuring your ads.
