Good writing for more sales

There is a super underrated skill which can be used to get you tons of sales every week.
Most don’t realise it, but it’s something that you’re constantly doing every day.
The skill I’m talking about is writing.
If you thought that you would never use it again after leaving high school, think again. Because if you can apply it to your business, magic happens.
Most writing is crap
Because most people haven’t done any professional writing since leaving school, it might be pretty obvious but the majority of writing out there isn’t very good.
Whether it’s used for blog articles, ads, video scripts, etc. Writing is a crucial part in getting sales.
Which doesn’t help when it’s so often neglected by business owners.
I don’t mean you should be producing Oscar-winning ten thousand-word blog articles every second day.
But I’ve came across numerous ads that don’t even do the bare minimum:
Ads that are hard to read, don’t make sense and are loaded with spelling errors are not as rare as you would expect. You’d think that people would read over their stuff before posting it.
In fact, I came across an ad the other day which claimed that they provide ‘a top quality and professional service’, but they spelt professional with only one ‘s’. Very professional indeed.
Be careful
The quality of your writing can be the difference between attracting clients and losing their interest in a heartbeat.
You need to use your writing to show your audience that you care about their problems and essentially build a small connection with them.
Despite this, a lot of people fall into the trap of just talking about themselves instead of using their writing to connect with their target market.
These kinds of ads always look something like this:
“We at [company name] are excited to announce that we are opening our client calendar for the remainder of the year. We have 25 years of experience and we have 74 5-star reviews on Google. Blah Blah…”
Not one person in the right mind would look at this and say “Yes! These guys care about me and my problems!”
Get more sales with ease
When we write, we need to put ourselves into the mind of our readers.
What problems do they have? How much do they know about their problem? How much about the solution do they know? Is this a common problem? Are there other solutions they might know about? Are there any objections we might need to handle?
When you do this (and make sure you tackle any spelling errors), you’re writing will almost always take care of itself. We were all taught it in school, whether or not you were good or bad at it, we still know the basics.
And the best part about it… the more you write the better and faster you get. Meaning more sales, way faster with less effort.
The possibilities are endless, so make sure you take full opportunity of what good writing can do for you.

Tommy
