Most businesses out there don’t get many sales.

Why is that?

It’s because they are neglecting a few fundamentals when it comes to their marketing.

Just like anything else, learning the basics can go a long way.

But if you don’t…

You will struggle in the future.

In this article, I am going to show you 3 basic elements that can take any business from zero to hero.

Build your foundation

In business, just like many other things, it is very easy to beat your competition if you perfect the basics.

It doesn’t matter if it’s cooking, boxing, snowboarding, etc.

If you lay a good foundation, you will go far.

When you dial in these 3 things, you are guaranteed to beat 90% of your competition.

  1. Decide what your message is as a business.

  2. Pick who you want to hear your message.

  3. Find a way to reach them with your message.

Although it looks simple, most businesses fail due to neglecting these basic elements.

Don’t get it wrong

I have reviewed many ads, and most fail with at least one of these basics.

Some ads have a great message but don’t reach the right audience.

Others find the right people but fail to persuade them.

And some find a way to get all 3 elements wrong…

But there is one thing that all of them have in common.

They don’t get any sales.

No one gets in touch, no one buys, no one signs up, nothing.

And there is only one way to fix that.

Start doing this

When I run an ad, I absolutely make sure the following is correct:

  1. My message is engaging.

It has to cut through the noise and grab my audience's attention.

It has to be persuasive.

And most importantly, it needs an offer for my audience, something that makes them raise their hand and say “Yes, this is for me!”.

  1. I know exactly who my message is for.

There is no point in selling doorbells to the homeless.

Because the chances of them buying is close to none.

When deciding who my audience will be, one factor trumps the rest:

What group of people has the highest chance of buying?

Once we know what group that is, we can begin to reach them with our message.

  1. I know where I can find my audience.

Am I selling to book lovers? It may be best to advertise at a library.

What about gun owners? Then the shooting range would be a viable option.

There is one thing that makes this much easier than it used to be:

Social media.

Using tools like Meta ads or Google ads, we can reach our target audience with the click of a button.

No more do we need to go knocking on doors until we get a yes.

Try it out

The next time you advertise anything for your business, ensure you have these 3 elements in check.

Because if even one of them isn’t right, you will soon see yourself throwing valuable time and money down the drain.

And that is no way to advertise.

If you don’t have the time or the expertise to pull it off, get in touch and let us give you a hand.
