There are hundreds of different ways to find clients for your business.
Some are quick and easy.
Others take some more time and nurture.
But what really sets them apart, is the people they attract.
In just a few minutes, I will show you how to find the perfect clients for your business.
The root of the problem
When it comes to onboarding clients, most business owners don’t realise how many layers there are in marketing.
For example, when promoting their business, the approach usually looks something like this:
Advertisement -> people see this -> people get in touch -> close -> service -> payment
This approach can work well for those looking for quick and easy work.
However, this is not feasible if you want to attract the most ideal clients.
Consequences
There are two problems with this:
You are now competing with 90% of other businesses in your trade.
A significant number of your leads are low-quality, hard to work with, and far from being your perfect client.
This in turn creates even more unnecessary work for you to do.
You will likely find yourself stuck trying to out-market your competitors and wasting time on people who aren’t interested in your service.
People may try to lowball you for a cheaper price.
They may also pester you about what experience you have.
All of the time saved going for a simpler approach is now taken up with inconveniences.
How to avoid this
There are a number of ways to combat these problems.
To keep things short and sweet, I’ll give you one of my favourites.
I like to prequalify my clients with the use of a lead magnet.
A lead magnet is typically a piece of information that is given away for free.
For example, this can be a free guide related to your service.
The goal of a lead magnet is to get people to opt in for the free information.
When opting in, their emails are collected and the lead magnet is sent to their inbox.
In this event, two things have happened:
The lead's email address is collected.
We now know for sure that they are interested in our services.
With this info, we can get started on getting in touch with them.
Now you’re ready
Now that you have gotten your leads familiar with your company and provided some free value, selling to them will be much easier and more time-efficient.
Although setting up a lead magnet can be a somewhat frontloaded task, the payoff is more than worth it.
Once you have it set up and are collecting emails, you could get into using autoresponders and other tools to save even more of your time in the future.
If you would like your very own lead magnet, but just don’t have the time to set it up, get in touch with us and we’ll handle it for you.
